KDJ Overview

The structure of the KDJ indicator KDJ was based and developed on the basis of the Stochastic indicator. The only difference between KDJ and Stochastic is the addition of the J signal line.

The K and D lines are the two main components moving up and down between 0 and 100, and the J is the signal line.

Therefore, the KDJ indicator consists of 3 signal lines and 2 the two oversold and overbought:

  • K line: Shown by the blue line on the chart.

  • D Line: Shown by the yellow line on the chart.

  • J Line: Shown by the red line on the chart.

Identifying overbought and oversold:

  • Overbought: When KDJ breaks above 80.

  • Oversold: When KDJ falls below 20.
