VPS Introduction

A virtual private server (VPS) is a virtual machine provided by Internet hosting services. When running EA on a Laptop or PC, users need to turn on the machine and maintain a constant Internet connection. Therefore, VPS is often used when trading with EAs with the following advantages:

• EA runs 24/24 without Laptop or PC.

• VPS is stably, high safety and security.

• Quotations and order matching are faster.

Prepare the necessary files

Before install EA on VPS, prepare the following 4 components:

• Folder containing the required indicator.

In this example, the EA uses the Moving Average, Engulfing Candle and Pin Bar indicators

• File Template.

• EA Config file.

• FXCE Giga executing file (FXCEGiga.ex5).

Note: The folder containing Indicator, File Template, and File Config, which is available on Laptop or PC, should have the same name for easy management during migration to VPS.

Steps to install EA on VPS

After having all the necessary files, the EA will be installed on the VPS through the following 6 steps:

• Copy the entire Indicator Folder to folder:.\MQL5\Indicators\

• Copy the FXCEGiga.ex5 file to the ..\MQL5\Experts\ folder

• Copy File Template to the ..\MQL5\Profiles\Templates\ folder

• Copy the Config File to the ..\Common\Files\ folder. This folder can be opened quickly by going to Menu File > Open Data Folder on FXCE Giga.

• Select and load the Config File to FXCE Giga by going to Menu File > Open Config File.

• Change Deactivated to Activated to activate the EA.

Note: FXCE Giga can be used right on the VPS to create an EA, by skipping the above steps, Copy the FXCEGiga.ex5 file onto the VPS and do as on a normal PC.
